Acceptable forms of payment
Who can pay a ticket online?
New Mexico license and ID holders and out of state customers can use this service.
If you do not have a New Mexico issued license or ID then you must have the ticket
on hand to enter the citation number.
Which tickets can be paid?
Penalty assessments due to the State of New Mexico’s Motor Vehicle Division. Not
all citation payments are paid to the Motor Vehicle Division. Please double check
the ticket by looking down at the bottom part of the front of the ticket and make
sure penalty assessment is checked. Traffic Arraignments cannot be paid through
the Motor Vehicle Division. Some tickets may not be available for payment due to
statutory requirements. Certain reinstatement payments may be available depending
upon statutory requirements and conditions on that particular individual's record.
How much does it cost?
A $1.25 transaction fee is collected in addition to any citation or reinstatement
fees. This fee is charged by our payment processor and is not kept by the New Mexico
Motor Vehicle Division
When will this payment be applied to the citation (s)?
It typically takes three (3) business days for the payment to update the
record. This can vary depending upon the accuracy and amount of information entered
by the user. Update timeframes may also be affected by when the citation is received
and entered into the system.
